Prof. Chen is a leading figure in co mputational biology and medical informatics.  After earning his Ph.D. at SUNY Stony Brook\, he lectured at Harvard and then spent sixteen years on the faculty of the University of Southern California\, before joining Tsin ghua University in 2016\, where he now directs the Center for Big Data Res earch in Medicine and Health.
