The Annual Research Retreat of the Faculty of Biology at the Technion took place on February 10-11 at Kibbutz Nahsholim, providing two enriching days of scientific lectures, research presentations, inspiring academic discussions, and valuable networking opportunities.

The Technion Faculty of Biology Distinguished Alumni Award
For the first time, the Faculty of Biology awarded its Distinguished Alumni Award to Prof. Yosef (Yossi) Shiloh, recognizing his outstanding scientific achievements in the life sciences.
Prof. Shiloh, a Technion Biology BSc graduate, is the first recipient of this prestigious honor.
Prof. Shiloh is an emeritus professor at Tel Aviv University and holds the David & Inez Myers Chair in Cancer Genetics.
He is a member of the Israel Academy of Sciences and Humanities (since 2005) and the U.S. National Academy of Sciences (since 2023).
His notable achievements include:
Israel Prize in Life Sciences (2011)
EMET Prize for Cancer Research (2005)
Clowes Award from the American Association for Cancer Research
