As part of the Faculty of Biology Annual Research Conference, which will take place on February 3–4, 2026, an Excellence Award will be presented to an individual with a significant connection to the Faculty of Biology, whose contribution in the field of research, teaching, or industry is outstanding and significant.
Who Can Apply/Be Nominated?
- Graduates of the Faculty who have completed at least one degree (Bachelor’s/Master’s/Doctorate) in the Faculty.
- Researchers or Faculty Members who have previously served within the Faculty for at least 4 years.
- Individuals whose contribution to the Faculty or to the advancement of its goals has been exceptional, even if they did not formally study or research within it.
Nominations can be submitted by the nominees themselves or by any other person.
Criteria for Evaluating Nominations:
- Outstanding achievements in the field of research, teaching, or industry (preference for activity in Israel).
- Significant contribution to the advancement of science, society, or the community.
- Continuous or exceptional connection to the Faculty and our scientific culture.
Submission Method:
- Current CV of the nominee.
- Recommendation Letter (up to one page) which clarifies their contribution and the reason for the nomination for the award.
- Additional letters of support (optional).

Selection Process and Announcement of the Winner:
- The winner will be selected by an Award Committee composed of Faculty members and previous award recipients.
- The decisions of the Committee are final, and no reasons or explanations will be provided to unselected candidates.
- The Award Committee will announce the winner by January 31, 2026.
- The winner will be announced at a festive ceremony during the Annual Research Conference.
- The winner will give a short lecture as part of the Annual Conference.
- The winner’s attendance at the event is a condition for receiving the award, except for exceptional circumstances approved by the Dean of the Faculty.
